I am Working-Soft-coach since:
October 2016
My background is:
Life and career counselor for academics, has a PhD in philosophy (member of VFP, NPCA, and GCoach)
What I stand for:
I love the passion, integrity and curiosity with which researchers strive for knowledge and excellence in the face of failure, criticism, uncertainty. But I also look behind the scenes, at the personal struggles. Working hard is the norm in the academic world. I see how long-term career uncertainty confines academics and makes them doubt their worth. How they surrender their life’s happiness to the critical judgement of a supervisor, peer reviewer or grant committee. How the pressure to perform inadvertently disconnects them from the meaning of their work. These personal tragedies hurt.
That is why I assist early and mid career academics find their vision, enthusiasm, and confidence in life & career. Since I received my PhD in philosophy I have helped hundreds of researchers to connect reason with their heart’s wisdom, to move forward harmoniously. My aim is to transform the academic world from a place ruled by hard work resulting from performance pressure (publications and grants) and career uncertainty into an environment where researchers are in charge of their time, energy and mental space to deliver creative, innovative top results in a relaxed, sustainable way, without becoming drained and burned out in the process.
